Drop the Beat

Is every word written

required to be bent

into the shape

of a rhythm?

Write what you know.

Write what you feel.

Pour yourself onto

the page.

And drop the beat.

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  3. Drop the beat, feel the heat !
    Bravo, good poems

  4. Drop the beat?
    Ha Ha ! NEVER.

No rhyme, no rhythm, no message – no POEM.
(♪♫ It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that SWING ♪♫)

PS: I like your blog !

  5. “…and drop the beat.” Great line: I really like how it sounds. A reminder of music and the need to go against the flow.

  6. Thanks for stopping by John, really like your style – look forward to catching up on more of your posts.

  7. Thanks for the follow and the like! Continue to “Write what you feel”. I hope to do the same 🙂
