Age And Wisdom

age doesn’t have to just mean

becoming feeble in body or

in mind or becoming less anything

it can mean, should mean, learning,

maturity, and new perspectives

that can bring new wisdom

this is a path I find myself on

and a path I intend to stay on

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  1. There is an internal battle I fight on an ongoing basis between mind and body,it definitely takes stick to of ness it keep to the path

  2. Many things get better with age, not just wine. Your words ring simple and true. πŸ™‚

  3. Having reached the point in life where I no longer need to ask for my “senior discount” I can appreciate your post more than many. Glad I’ve stumbled (something I do often) across your blog. You write well and I will continue to follow as long as the profanity doesn’t creep in. AND I AVOID FACEBOOK & TWITTER COMPLETELY!!! Jerry

  4. Same here. I truly feel that at some point we are truly blessed with wisdom and maturity. I guess when we are young we are too arrogant to realize that.

    • The mind is our most powerful muscle and our greatest tool if we choose to use it. As we age and hopefully mature we learn more and our minds become better and more powerful. There’s nothing like the combination of wisdom and knowledge.

  5. Is this why headaches are averaged more so with those middle aged on up? lol

I agree though, on a more serious note, this is very true. But only if yhe individual allows the maturity and wisdom to take place.

    • Headaches? Sure. It could happen. Migraines too. lol

You’re right. We have to want to mature in order to allow ourselves to gain that wisdom and knowledge.

      • Migraines are or something I have grown rather acquainted with. They’re not the liveliest bunch though they do make quite the everlasting impression, I do not recommend that anybody become acquainted with them for they can leave behind a pretty nasty throb.

Absolutely, nothing is ever possible or accomplished if one does not want it bad enough to grasp it or work towards grasping it. Have to want it bad enough.

  6. I think i am a better person in almost every way at 60 than I ever have been! It is a wonderful time, I can finally be me and be happy with me!

    • That sounds like a mantra and a very good one. I had spent a long time dreading 50 but now I’m counting down the days. I can’t wait. Getting older isn’t just breaking down and getting weaker. It’s about getting stronger too.

      • It is definitely about getting stronger in all the right ways! another step in life to enjoy, it is what you make it, like everything else… πŸ™‚

  7. Age is just a number, they say. Real or Complex, I don’t know. Age may not teach you what you should do in times to come, but it, for sure, teaches you what not to do in times to come which is equally important. Nice post.

  8. It is a stage of life to create, embellish, and enjoy. For every season, there is a reason … even if we don’t know what it is, but we will!

  9. Gotta love poetry I can relate to πŸ™‚ nice one

  10. I totally agree. Cheers, HC

  11. Dream it Alive

That’s something we all should remember.

  14. For every muscular guy and enchanting gal
    For enemies and for pal
    For huge and small
    For short and tall
    So dear accept it
Its not about number or digits
Its not about likes ,dislikes or habits
Its not about credits and debits
Its not about flops and hits
    So dear accept it
its not about strength or weakness
Its not about loss of memory mess
Its not about wrinkles or lines
Its not about good old wine
    So dear accept it
Its beautiful to age with grace
Its beautiful to age with smiling face
Its beautiful to age at slow pace
Its beautiful to age with childish trace
    So dear accept it
