All There Is
love has yet to come here and stay
but to keep loving is all there is
success hides itself from me
but to keep working is all there is
happiness is mysterious and elusive
but to keep smiling is all there is
life’s lessons are constantly hidden
but to keep learning is all there is

Otherwise, what’s the point? Well written.
That’s so true, Chris! Thanks! π
Cool view of life, expertly expressed.
Thank you so much! It’s great to meet you!

truth sits patiently beneath the poet’s words
to keep reading is all there is
Thanks for the reblog!!
I really identify, writing is such a pleasure. I don’t know where it will lead but I cannot stop doing it. Words coming into my head all the time.
Thanks, Simon! When it becomes a habit and it eats at you and those moments when the right brain is firing can be a fun time! π
There will always be what could have been. But there is always all there is. π Beautifully written.
Very well said, Tejas! Thank you! π
Learning is always the tough job of growing. I used to tell my daughter growing up is the toughest job in the world.
Oh you can say that again! When we’re young we don’t believe that but boy does life teach us that it’s true and do it the hard way.
The journey is more important than the destination. That’s how I interpreted your poem. Loved it! π
Your interpretation is right on the money! I may not get what I want but life is all about seeking and learning. π
Yep, guess I am on a high with at the moment, but let us go to the dark side. Frustrating or
the dreaded writer’s block. I read something from Stephen King, am not a fan but have respect, it was something like just keep writing even if you think it is bad, quite often you go back and read it maybe months later and think ‘Wow’ that is amazing, if anyone else does is another matter of course !

That’s amazing advice too. If we make writing a daily habit it will wake up that part of us like it’s never been before and eventually the words will spill out like water. Liking and disliking…well, that’s all so subjective, of course, but if anyone does like what you write, it certainly does add fuel to the fire.
Like you said earlier, we can only go forward in time.
And it can seem we’re moving forward at a faster and faster rate of speed.
Life is often hard to understand, but to keep living is all there is π
I had to π Great piece!
Thanks! No problem. That fits nicely. π

My pleasure indeed ));<)))))
π
Yes indeed, John π
Thank you! π
You’re right John, it does seem to be going faster and faster. The older you get the faster it goes; I think I’m at light speed at present.
The older we get, the faster it goes and it can sure seem to reach light speed. π
Hello There,
Great poem! I like reading your blog. π
Ps. Reading poetry is my best time to pass time so I’ll be reading a lot of your poetry/blog !
Best,

Thank you for visiting and taking some time to read and for the comment, Luisa! It’s great to meet you!
Yet another great piece that speaks thy thoughts. Well done. π
As always, thank you, Sherina! Thou art far too kind! (Had too since you used the old English “thy” in your comment.) π
Love your sense of ability to read into text. … ..
Old English intrigues me and I had found it suitable for the moment. Thank you kind Sir, for I am not always very kind, loke any other female, I can be rather intolerable. .lol π
Your use of the word “thy” clicked something and made me think Old English. It can be intriguing language. You’re welcome, kind ma’am and thank you. You seem rather tolerable to me. π
Love it alsome
Thank you! It’s great to meet you!

The feeling’s mutual π

I love your play here with the reoccurring but to keep. Maybe it is because I too love playing with poetry structure and phrases. How true though! We must “keep” all there is.
Thanks! There’s nothing like playing with language to squeeze something new out of it. I fail a lot more than I succeed though. lol
I do understand. We are like metal refined by failure, but worth much more afterward.
Exactly! Well said.
looove this. i identify SO strongly. thank you!
