Melody

when all assails

and falls beyond

the purview of

reason or sanity

when the day’s

course has run

into distress

when there is more

than you can bear

let me be

the melody

to lift you

above it all

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  1. This is simply beautiful John, who could resist such an uplifting melody?! πŸ˜‰

  2. Wow! That is such a pure thought john:)last four lines provide divinity in nature

    • Thank you! πŸ™‚ I must say the same to you that I said to Suchetana Mukherjee…You’re far too kind!

      • And I must admit that I’ve never really been into poetry, however since I’ve been at WordPress (3 months) I’ve been fortunate enough to follow a few very entertaining poets, present company included. Keep ’em coming.

        • Poetry, or maybe I could/should say poets, can be pretentious and attempt to dig so deep that it loses all its meaning by hiding what it was meant to say. That’s something that turned me off to poetry years ago but I’ve found some excellent writers here and a lot of inspiration for each and every one of them. Stick around. It’s a pretty great ride here on WordPress.

  3. Nice upper midway through last day of packing. Bit of advice…don’t sort through the musty boxes…just leave the memories unmolested and store them in new dark closet.
