About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  1. Wow – I don’t think you could have chosen stronger words. Amazing poem!

  2. You poem “Roots” has a nice twist to it. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Sometimes that is what’s required 😁

  4. Welp I have the sudden urge to get up and move. Preferably before I am wilted and dead. Very point on poem I felt to inspire action.

  5. While you remain in stunted growth, nature will go on… I love that. Reminds you though, although nature appears to go around in unchanging and reliable circles, you don’t have to. Great poem 🙂

  6. No problem 🙂 and likewise!

  7. Really, nature doesn’t give a damn if you don’t grow within yourself – every single day. Excellent piece John.

  8. Hi, Okay so I have just `met` you.. but damn am liking what am reading!
Am about to read all your poems Mr John. You sound quite deeply inspired.

  9. This is a powerful poem that can describe so many areas of life. The lack of exercising the mind and body. Allowing creativity to wane, then disappear. Great words, so thought-thought-provoking.

    • Thank you! Keeping the body and especially the mind fit is important. We also need to grow and learn as much as possible each day and attempt to become better and stronger people.

  10. Made me think! Thanks, John!

  11. Very nice – simple and powerful words – yet again!

  12. I really like this poem! Nicely done ^^

  13. Hello John, great poetry. Thank you for the follow. 🙂

  14. Awesome work! I’m pretty sure you can gain more credits and even start making money from books! Let me know if you need anything!

    • Thank you, Mike! Breaking in with editors at journals and magazines seemed to be the next logical step but it’s proving to be pretty difficult. Poetry can be very subjective – either accepted or rejected. I would like to publish but it’s proving to be really difficult. I’m still plugging away toward that goal, though. It’s great to meet you!

  15. Deep powtic justice!

  16. Poetic… I swear I’m grammatically correct… lol. My phone decides otherwise at times. .lol

  17. I love the visualization that I get when I read this. Very powerful.

  18. Love it! The fountain comes to mind. Death is the road to awe 😉

  19. I particularly like this poem. So important to consciously decide to grow. That’s what “take root” means to me in your poem. And everyone gets an opportunity but it’s what you choose to do that will determine whether you move forward or “wither”.

  20. This poem really resonated with me. Beautiful.
