Love No One

I don’t blame you

there are no hard feelings

the truth may be a different matter

though I am capable of love

I am not able to love anyone

the way that I love you

I had reserved everything

held it all back for you

it’s not possible to give

that or anything to you now

leaving me with only one choice:

because no one else is you

I will love no one

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  1. Wow! Powerful! I felt it.

  2. F***! This is overwhelmingly sad, wow!!

    • Thank you! πŸ™‚ Don’t let it get you too sad. This is a story that’s been over for quite some time so the mourning period has long ago come and gone. πŸ˜‰

  3. Your “About John White” box caught my eye… I like that you write everyday. Its a good habit and I’m inspired to take it on. Keep writing you’re amazing

    • Thank you! πŸ™‚ At first it was a pain to write even a few times a week, frankly. I hated it. I felt like I was dragging myself through some exercise. It felt too much like work. Eventually, it got to be such a habit I couldn’t stop. I have good days and bad days but the habit is hard to break.

  4. Amazing. So reflects my own heart.

    • Thank you, Matt! πŸ™‚ I’m almost sorry you identify with this or that anyone does since it means someone got hurt but life sure can throw us some curve balls.

  16. ..because no one else is you..
    This line is so true.
Such a pity when, all the love one is capable of giving, remains unused & there is really no one to blame. Your poem is really touching. Love reading your posts πŸ™‚

  23. So beautifully expressed. It’s unfortunate that it is not I alone who knows this feeling. But at least I now know that its solitude was fleeting. As always, thank you for sharing. 😊 ❀️

    • Thank you! πŸ™‚ They always tell us to get back out there, that there are more fish in the sea but sometimes in is best and we simply don’t feel like fishing anymore. πŸ˜‰ Luckily, the wounds heal over time.
