Speaking Into the Universe

I sent my words out

into the universe

I sent my dreams

I sent my hopes

I sent my wishes

I sent my desires

hoping for a benevolent’s

blessing

instead my words

fell among darkness

swallowed by a vacuum

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  1. No vacuums, patience will pay off, the universe’s gratitude isn’t measured in minutes. Good poem. 😇😄😉

  2. Oh, someone’s listening all right!

  3. I heard you:-) But I know how it can feel sometimes.

  4. There never is a ‘vacuum’….. Seek that elusive accomplice, Patience! 😉

    • Thank you, Bushka! 🙂 There are great listeners here, no doubt. Those who hold the keys (editors) are often not great listeners unfortunately. I may just change my message for them. 😉

  5. This kind of poetry is absolutely relatable.
    .

  6. Nice piece of writing, but keep the hope up!

  7. So not true.
But just in case, you better check your connection!

    John:
    “Can you here me now?”

    WordPress friends:
“Yes we can, John, loud and clear! ”

Keep writing, we’re listening. Have a great weekend ☺

  8. I’ve never found a vacuum in your writings. Maybe in my head, but in your writings, never!

  9. i’m just gonna keep lovin your work.

  10. Coming in loud and clear – but can relate to the feeling sometimes 🙂

  11. Your words fell among us…and we received them with a smile on our faces and the light in between the spaces 😉

  12. Keep sending your words into the Universe, They end up where they need to be heard the most.

  13. sweet!
    yet, somehow
    we are
    the universe 🙂

  14. I feel like this every time my stuff is rejected! Great poem!

  15. I believe that the universe has two definition. Physical and metaphysical. If you care to put the metaphysical in view, you will eventually get to see yourself and know your significance and importance to the physical universe.

    • Thank you! 🙂 If coming to peace with who we are and finding a place somewhere within the universe becomes a priority, we can find that we’re heard more often and that we are much happier.

  16. Our words, dreams, hopes, desires live beyond us, even though we may not immediately see this as so… 🙂

  17. Such a hopeful poem… beautifully penned. All my best wishes. Aquileana 🌟★🌟
