Shut Up

the political

the longing love

the loss

the gain

the seeing

the hearing

strike it down

before the thoughts

can cool

place upon the reader

your burdens

as if to request

their assistance

beg the forgiveness

shout the heights

praise the brave

be the oracle

embody importance

mock the masses

nail the ignorance

talk

write

utter

read

blab

blather

all you say

is significant

no ink wasted

no thought wieldy

shut.

up.

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  1. “Strike it down
    Before the thoughts
    Can cool”
    Nice play of words there.

  2. Love it, if that’s not the perfect free write, then I’m a monkey.

  3. You are so clever with the words. Always makes my brain start working again!

  4. I think the last two words apply to the first two emphatically!

  5. Silence can be extremely eloquent. 😉

  6. There is too much noise in the world. This expresses my feelings perfectly!

  7. Love it! No ink wasted

  8. It does at times seem that we are being bombarded with words and it is such a shame to feel that way because words can bring such enjoyment such as yours brought to me today.
