Your Eyes

and your eyes at each meeting

oh how they would swallow

my being entire – there, all,

fell deeply into their gray-blue

and when you walked away

oh how I would stay on

locked in steel-blue – warm, gone,

lost in the eternity of you

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  2. You do understand that there are some “old men” reading your posts? 😉 Not much for the mushy stuff…………..

  3. Nice!! Especially the last line!

  4. Nice… this would perfectly pair up with a song titled, you guessed it, Your Eyes lol It’s by Amel Larrieux. The flow of the poem reminds me of the song. You can listen to it here:

  8. I like how you wrote “my being entire” instead of “my entire being” which, when the poem is read aloud would have rhymed with “meeting” and wouldn’t be as nice as it is. 🙂

  9. “Lost in the eternity of you”—just wow!

  10. I love poetry about eyes!! Thoroughly enjoyed!!!

  11. A Happy New Year, John and thank you for your beautiful writing ❤

  12. Deep! Blue and intoxicating.

  13. I love the last line 🙂 I hope you’ve had a beautiful start of the year and wish you an entire beautiful 2016!

  14. Don’t know about eyes, locked in your words for sure! Intense piece!
