In the Unfortunate Event

in the event that I ever hit it

big

and I’m talking big enough

that people know my name

that they remember my poesy

.

anyone claiming to have

ever carried on either

meaningful relationship

or on-and-off relations

with this broken human

.

well, if this ever happens

tell them “a good day to you”

and send them packing

my final liaison(s) are

included within my pages

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  1. We have to chew a few cherry pits before we find the cherry that is sweet and ripe. Never say never. 😇

  2. If……………….. 😉

  3. Leave everyone out and make it simple 🙂

  4. Ditto. Better yet I’ll send them FedEx to the jerks who did the same to me. They deserve each other. And you and I deserve much much better.

  5. My sentiments exactly John. As a musician I do as you do often….and now with ease. It’s good to know that I’m not alone on this one.

    • Thank you, Bob! 🙂 It’s always great to know there are others out there who are going through what we’re going through. It might not be easy but we’re never truly alone. 😉

  6. I enjoyed this piece John.

  7. This resonates with me so much 🙂 Love it

  8. I just went out from a long and healthy relationship but the differences still came in the way. What can we say about long-lasting love ? Is there really a deep love that can last forever ? Tomorrow will tell me.

  9. I’m reminded of a sentiment of Woody Allen’s, which went something like ‘I’m not after leaving my art to posterity, I don’t intend to die’. But again, if you find fame in your lifetime, be kind!.

    • Thank you, Frederick! 🙂 Death is inevitable but some are fortunate to live on through their work. Let’s hope if fame comes to nay of us that the world is kind. 😉

  10. The ‘if I ever make it…’ thoughts plague my mind every now and then too!
