Life Song

life is but

a fragile song

meant to be sung

verse by verse

chorus by chorus

.

sing it wholly

and note for note

for when the

song is through

there will be

no reprise

About John White

I've written off and on my entire life. It took years for me to finally take putting words together seriously. Now it's not, nor does it ever feel, like work. Writing daily has become habitual. No day is complete without words having appeared on the page.

  1. This is a song we donot know when, where and how it will end. We only write the middle stanzas.

  2. How true and how prettily put.

  3. Yes, savor it while you may, it’s gone in the blink of an eye.
    Lovely poem, John.

  4. Absolutely beautiful

  5. Too often I find my life song drowned in the dissonance of the past and misdirected by alluring melodies of the future made of whole cloth.
